Image Models
SitePx supports 9 AI image generation models from OpenAI, Google, Black Forest Labs, and ByteDance. Each model is gated by plan so you always have the right tool for the job without overpaying.
What are image models?
Image models are the AI engines that generate product photos, blog featured images, and campaign visuals inside SitePx. Different models have different strengths — some are faster, some produce higher-fidelity output, and some excel at specific creative styles.
You choose your active model in Settings → Image Models. The model you select is used for all subsequent image generation jobs until you change it.
Available models by plan
Models are unlocked cumulatively — each higher plan includes everything from the plan below it, plus additional models.

Note
Why models are gated by plan
Each model has different underlying costs and quality characteristics. Gating by plan means:
- Cost control — higher-cost models (3 credits) are reserved for plans with enough image credit budget to use them effectively.
- Quality progression — as your store grows, your creative needs evolve. Gating ensures you get meaningful upgrades at each tier.
- Governance — Enterprise models include premium engines from multiple providers. Centralised access control reduces accidental overspend.
How to change your model
Open Settings
Navigate to Settings in the SitePx sidebar, then click the Image Models tab.
Select a model
You'll see a 3×3 tile grid of all 9 models. Available models show a radio button; locked models show the plan required to unlock them. Click any available tile to select it.
Save
Click Save at the bottom of the page. All future image generation jobs will use the selected model.
Troubleshooting
Why are some tiles locked?
Locked tiles indicate models that require a higher plan than your current subscription. Each locked tile shows the minimum plan needed (e.g. “Pro+”, “Growth+”, or “Enterprise”). Upgrade your plan in Shopify to unlock them.
Why can't I select a model?
If a model appears greyed out with a lock icon, your current plan does not include access. Check the table above to see which plan is required and upgrade from Billing & Credits.
What plan do I need for a specific model?
See the “Available models by plan” table above. Each model lists its minimum required plan. Remember that plans are cumulative — Enterprise includes every model available on Growth, Pro, and Free.
Why is output 1024×1024?
All models enforce a ~1 MP default output size (approximately 1024×1024 pixels depending on aspect ratio). This keeps generation fast, reduces credit consumption, and produces consistent results that work well for product images and blog posts. The output size is optimised for web display.
